I posted forms applying for PIP today. Filling that form out was seriously draining and overwhelming for me, basically because I try very hard to remain positive, and writing all this stuff down kind of shook me up. Silly I know, but a very real distress for me.

Anyway, I am posting to say that I am entirely certain I would have given up on the forms if it wasn't for the NRAS help guide. I was staring at the questions, not having any clue where to begin before I looked at that, but looking at the different sections really broke it down for me, and made it less emotive. Thinking 'yes, I have falls' or 'yes, I drop things' was more like responding to a check list, than having to think How Am I Broken (which is how I felt, logic be damned).

I also realised that I have entirely normalised a lot of things, and wouldn't have even thought to include them on the form without the NRAS guide. They were obvious things really, but I am just so used to them it didn't occur to me to write them down without prompting.

So thankyou helpful NRAS people, and well done ThumpUp

I recommend it strongly to anyone else applying for PIP. Whether my claim is successful or not, the help guide was very useful Smile
